Traffic volumes today have an extremely negative impact on the environment: noise pollution, air pollution, CO2 emissions, and carving up the countryside, etc. Around a third of Switzerland’s greenhouse gas emissions in 2015 were traffic-related (Environment Switzerland 2018 report).

Traffic-related environmental pollution caused by business trips and commuter traffic are a key issue of everyday life at the University. Staff and students can play their part in reducing this pollution. We have compiled a few ideas below for how you can take sustainability into account on your daily commute to the University or when traveling to conferences:
